A2DP Bluetooth (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile)

Now a days, you must have read that smartphones are coming with A2DP Bluetooth so here I tried to give idea what Is A2DP Bluetooth, Hope you like. Bluetooth has more than 36 profiles one of which is A2DP. Others are like HFP (Hands-free calling through the stereo) , AVRCP (Control over music playback directly from the stereo)  OPP (Uploading of contact info to the stereo) and many more. To read more about Bluetooth profiles on Wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profile )

This profile defines how high quality audio (stereo or mono) can be streamed from one device to another over a Bluetooth connection.  For example, music streamed from a mobile phone to a wireless headset. Now a days, consumer demand for wireless everything has meant high quality wireless audio has to be provided, and because you can’t change the reliable, low quality handset profile in Bluetooth, the A2DP profile has been created to compliment it by providing the bandwidth to send high quality audio. All other Bluetooth communication happens through the much wider data layer. A2DP sets aside a section of the data layer and sends high quality audio through it.

Many Bluetooth 1.1 and 1.2 mobile phones and portable media players do not natively support A2DP, while some newer Bluetooth 2.0 headphones do support it. Bluetooth headphones, especially the more advanced models, often come with a microphone and support for the Headset (HSP), Hands-Free (HFP) and Audio/Video Remote Control (AVRCP) profiles.

Essentially, A2DP creates a "Source/Sink" relationship between your phone and your stereo, in which your phone, the source, sends signal to your stereo, the sink. A2DP is also used in products such as wireless headphones and wireless speaker systems.

SSD Vs. HDD

File:Vertex 2 Solid State Drive by OCZ-top oblique PNr°0307.jpg

Today, in this fast world people cannot afford compromise with speed. Now a days there are two technologies in the market conventional HDD (hard drive) and SSD (solid state drive) for storage of data. User has to evaluate his requirements as well as Budget (of course!!) before selecting a storage device. This leads to question how? And which is best in different scenarios?

Introduction to HDD and SSD: Conventional HDD drives contain multiple disks called platters, which are covered in a magnetic coating and then rotated at high speed. Drive heads then move across the platters, changing the magnetisation of the material beneath to record data, for reading stored data in it does the same job. It stores data though power is off in technical term it is non-volatile memory. Here rotation is required in order to read or write data, takes considerable time as well as power which has major impact on performance of pc. And of course power consumption is one of major factor affecting device running on battery like laptop, tablet.

An SSD performs the same function (saving your data while the system is off, booting your system, etc.) as an HDD, but instead of platters, the data is stored on interconnected flash memory chips. This eliminates the problems of platters, moving heads and problems caused by generation of electromagnetic field due to rotation of head. The flash memory chips can either be permanently installed on the system's motherboard (like on some small laptops and netbooks). This technology is essentially being used in mp3 player, memory cards, cameras and in many more devices.

SSD drive can give excellent performance at the cost of price in other words if you want high performance that you need to pay more. Conventional HDD works like fan, which takes time to reach to the full speed after turning it on while in SSD there is no problem of speed it gives maximum rate of data transfer at any time i.e. it is ready anytime. SSD is also more reliable than conventional HDD. It is advisable for users to use SSD who can’t afford the compromise in speed.

Recently Samsung unveiled the first 3D  NAND memory.

The HDMI logo with the acronym "HDMI" in a large font at the top with the unabbreviated term (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) below in a smaller typeface. There is a trademark logo to the right of HDMI.HDMI

HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a compact audio/video interface for transferring video and audio data from a HDMI-compliant device  to a computer monitor, video projectordigital television, or a device which is supported (contains HDMI port). HDMI is a digital interface, it provides the best quality of the video (observable while working with 1080p or higher then that resolution ) since there are no lossy analog to digital conversions as are required for all analog connections

In 2011, the HDMI Founders: Hitachi, Panasonic Corporation, Philips, Sony, Technicolor, Toshiba, and Silicon Image, created the HDMI Forum to guide future iterations of the technology. Approximately 60 of the largest consumer electronics, PC and semiconductor companies are now working together under HDMI Specification.

HDMI has major versions which are as mentioned below:
  • HDMI 1.1
    • Support for DVD Audio.
  • HDMI 1.2
    •  Support for One Bit Audio format
  • HDMI 1.2a
    • Creation of version 1.2a of the HDMI Compliance Test Specification (CTS), which includes a CEC (Consumer Electronic Control) Supplement.
  • HDMI 1.3
    • increased bandwidth (10.2 Gbps) to support the demands of future HD display devices
    • it supports 10-bit, 12-bit and 16-bit (RGB or YCbCr) color depths
    • HDMI 1.3 adds support for “x.v.Color™”

all HDMI versions are fully backward compatible with all previous versions.

The Digital Living Network Alliance is a trade-association, which was established by Sony in 2003. Latest survey shows that As of 2011, over 250 companies are part of this organization and As of February 2013, over 18,000 different device models have obtained "DLNA Certified"  it confirms their interoperability with other devices. The basic idea behind the DLNA association is to develop standards and technologies that make it possible that several devices at home interact. An example might be a television, that can be used to play a film on a computer, or to show photos stored on a mobile phone.

DLNA uses Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) for media management, discovery and control.  UPnP defines the type of device that DLNA supports and the mechanisms for accessing media over a network.

Different Home network devices, Mobile handset devices, Home infrastructure devices have DLNA certificates. DLNA Certified devices have been tested to ensure that they'll play nicely with other DLNA devices. set-top box is an example of DLNAPV(Digital Living Network Alliance Premium Video) device, and it could then stream copy-protected content such as movies or TV programmes to your other non-DLNAPV devices
